Soholaunch’s website builder’s home page is very busy. I spent a few moments there before writing this and I am already exhausted.
Industry Specific?
I like it when I visit a website builder site and I find examples of live sites built with the tools and I find samples of the templates I will get to choose from if I use them. Soholaunch does show some featured sites on their home page, but you might miss them if you get lost in the clutter that makes up the top part of their home page content. Their “featured sites” are not impressive when compared with Weebly or Basekit’s examples.
Soholaunch has an extensive features page. On it, it mentions “professional templates,” but I can’t tell you what that means really because the thumbnail they have showing their templates is pretty much useless.
Based on their “featured sites,” Soholaunch is not industry specific, meaning they do not cater to a particular type of business. This is inline with the other website builders I have reviewed.
Pricing
I like pricing pages that include what I get for each pricing tier. Soholaunch’s website doesn’t offer such a page.
They show a big ad for 95¢ for the first month. That’s it. If you are clever enough to mouse over the ad, you will see that it is $17.95/month after your first month. If you opt to pay $119.40 at one time, that will set you up for the first year at $9.95/month. What? This is bizarre. Penalizing new customers for trying out your service for a discounted first month rate is crazy. What do you get if you pay $17.95/month instead of $9.95/month? Nothing but less profit for your business, apparently. I can’t say for sure what you get for each pricing tier because there is no pricing page to compare.

Mobile?
There’s no mention of it on their Features page, but on their home page they mention responsive templates. Usually website builders these days make a big deal about their templates being responsive or adaptive or mobile-friendly. I checked out a couple of their featured sites on my phone and the websites are responsive. However, I am not impressed with the way the websites look in mobile view because they are too stripped down; with almost no design or color. I’ve seen far better.
In What Browser Does the Website Builder Work?
It doesn’t say, so I’ll go with the assumption that it works in the most modern browsers, like Chrome, Firefox, and IE 10. The majority of builders don’t say anything about this; because of this, I’m giving everyone the benefit of the doubt.
Search Engine Optimization?
They state that they support Google Analytics. They don’t mention any other seo features.
Blog Features?
There’s no mention of blogging features. Their featured sites don’t show blogs in use, either, so I am going to say that this isn’t an option with Soholaunch’s website builder tool.
Ease of Use
They say they are a drag and drop tool. Usually this is a good thing, but I have watched their introductory video on their home page and the interface looks cluttered.
Use Your Own URL?
Yes.
My Initial Impression
Soholaunch’s website builder has a lot of design work to do on their website and their builder interface. I think they have a fair amount of features, but they aren’t clear about blogging or search engine optimization abilities, and that is a big concern.
