Well, well, well…. Look at you, Basekit, you sexy thing.
I have seen some stunningly ugly and boring website builders, and Basekit’s website builder clearly promises to be a cut above. So excited to see what it has to offer. Let’s get to it, shall we?
Industry Specific?
They offer a bunch of templates that are customizable to any industry, like most website builder tools.
Pricing
Basekit’s pricing structure includes four tiers, the most basic one being free (you can’t publish it with the free tier) and the most extensive tier is £24.00/month or £240.00/year (this works out to $364.68 US).

Mobile?
Their most expensive tier includes a mobile option that allows the user to design a custom look for mobile devices. At the time of this writing, they have 15 mobile templates. If you aren’t willing to opt-in to that package, their sites are not responsive but they do display properly in mobile devices.
In What Browser Does the Website Builder Work?
It doesn’t say, so I’ll go with the assumption that it works in the most modern browsers, like Chrome, Firefox, and IE 10. The majority of builders don’t say anything about this; because of this, I’m giving everyone the benefit of the doubt.
Search Engine Optimization?
Yes, you can put in meta descriptions, titles, and keywords into each page. You can also link your site to Google Analytics.
Blog Features?
This is the only area I can find that is a bit sketchy. They don’t mention a blogging feature within the product, but one of their example sites show a blog on the site and it appears to be native to the site.
Ease of Use
Their demo video is excellent and shows that the website builder is extremely easy to use. It is a drag and drop editor that looks very intuitive.
Use Your Own URL?
Yes.
My Initial Impression
By far the best presentation of a website builder product I have seen yet. They have a product tour page, which has a professional, inspiring, Apple-like video introducing their website builder. They get that people need to see what they are in for before investing time in building a site, so they show everything they possibly can about their website builder. They offer a free account so you can experience their product before committing to it with dollars. Their site is clean. Their templates are gloriously executed and are well-planned foundations from which to build your site. Beauty and functionality are happily living together at Basekit.com.
Basekit, I think I love you.
