VistaPrint has a website builder? Wow! I think of them for printed material, but clearly my thinking needs to be updated. As a matter of fact, wow at all of their online marketing offerings! They are truly trying to be a one-stop-shop for small businesses.
Industry Specific?
Like most website builders, VistaPrint’s website builder will let you browse designs by industry, but really, you can customize any design to fit your specific needs/industry. There doesn’t appear to be any industry-specific tools.
Pricing
They give you a 30-day free trial. After that, you have three tiers to choose from. What I LOVE is that they don’t limit the page count for the basic account. Nice! Pricing ranges from $4.99/month to $24.99/month. The highest package allows for a shopping cart, Search Engine Optimizer, and Facebook Page Builder. Those are great to add as options because they are very useful to those that need it, but not every business does, so it at least allows the mid and basic tier users to have what pretty much every business needs without being forced into the highest tier.
Would you like some free help preparing for your site? Cool. Here’s a free download I created just for you.
Mobile?
VistaPrint’s website builder does have mobile capabilities. The customer doesn’t have to do anything to create it. The only drawback is it isn’t available to the Basic tier, but truly not every business needs this feature. They are giving a lot to their Basic tier users already.
In What Browser Does the Website Builder Work?
They specifically state that their builder is compatible with Internet Explorer and Firefox. This is in reference to the builder, not the website the builder produces, which should work in most modern browsers.
Search Engine Optimization?
VistaPrint isn’t clear if their website builder allows custom meta information or not. They do have search engine submission tools and optimizers for the mid and highest tiers. They just don’t mention if the user can enter their own seo meta information. Also, they do have statistics but they don’t say if the user can put in their own Google Analytics account information.
Blog Features?
Yes, all tiers have a blogging capability, which is fabulous!
Ease of Use
They show their builder interface in a video and it looks fairly simple to use. It isn’t drag and drop, but the interface looks clean in design, without too many controls to get in the way.
Use Your Own URL?
Yes.
My Initial Impression
It’s pretty darn great. I would like to know more about their search engine optimization features. I really like that they have so many online marketing tools available all in one place for the consumer to use to promote their site. This is one of the best tools I have seen from a company that isn’t just a website builder. Pretty neat.

Hi Brenda,
Just reading your thoughts on Vistaprint website builder. I did a video review of it recently and posted it on my channel on Youtube. You’ll find the answer to your question on the meta tags around the 4:00 minute mark on my video. They do let you add meta tags and have an SEO checklist that will help people do basic on-page optimization.
The Vistaprint website builder is pretty good but there is some tough competition out there from companies like Squarespace and Weebly that are website builders first, and not printers.
Kudos to Vistaprint though on improving their technology recently.
