Watch this video to see how we migrated Selina’s site to a WordPress self-hosted site or read the project details below.
Selina’s a solopreneur life coach who wanted to use her site to list build and promote courses and workshops. She wanted to install the LeadPages plugin but couldn’t at WordPress.com.
Our challenge was to convert her site to a self-hosted platform as quickly as possible and maintain the look of her original site since she worked hard to get the original site the way she wanted it.
The result? We were able to accomplish all of our goals within budget and the new empoweredls.com site was re-built and re-launched within one month and Selina now has a pop-up lead capture feature on her site as well, which is more than we thought we’d get accomplished in our allotted budget.
Selina and I based most of our design decisions off of her WordPress.com site because she was very happy with its appearance and the content was mostly just going to be migrated over from the old site. Because Selina knew exactly how she wanted her site to look and function, our process was as efficient as possible. We had three Together Build™ sessions:
- Selecting a website hosting plan, a new theme, and developing a plan to migrate the site, blog content, and Selina’s blog followers
- Setting up the main elements of Selina’s site, such as navigation, sidebar. The we migrated over content and followers. We closed out this session by customizing the appearance of the theme.
- Lastly, we finalized Selina’s home page content, set up call to actions, and connected her site to her MailChimp account.
Quick custom videos were recorded to help Selina with the lead generating features of her site, like her pop-up plugin and a special top-of-site content area. This way, she can easily work with those features on her own if she desires.
