SnackWebsites? What a fun name. Of COURSE I’m going to review them.
Initial impression? You know, it looks very promising. The site’s design is clean and I know right off the bat that they are mobile/responsive and Google conscious. I see an example of one of their sites on the home page and I get the impression that the rest of my experience gathering my information for this review will be easy.
Industry Specific?
SnackWebsites puts a bit of an emphasis on musician websites, but they serve all industries, like most other website builder tools.
Pricing
Gah!
These folks looked sooooo promising at first glance. But I got so frustrated trying to find their pricing that I ended up on YouTube watching The Duck Song. Seriously. That just happened.
So… Back to this pricing thing. It’s kind of important, ya’ know? I am very interested in such things because I would hate to tell you something was uber awesome only to find out you have to re-mortgage your house or, worse yet, it doesn’t have blogging features.
You can create a website with SnackWebsites for free. Yes, free. But the problem is you can’t publish it for free. You either have to pay for their Premium Membership ($16.00/month) or you have to buy credits as you go. So how much is it to publish the site? I STILL DON’T KNOW after digging, and digging, and looking for grapes, and digging. Really guys?
So they have apps and each app cost credits. How much for each app? Who knows. You’re just supposed to trust them because. Because why? Because they hope you will just trust them, that’s why. This is ridiculous, and I am not making this up. Really, check it out at their points page.
Would you like some free help preparing for your site? Cool. Here’s a free download I created just for you.
Mobile?
Yes. They are mobile friendly. Their websites are responsive.
In What Browser Does the Website Builder Work?
As far as I can tell, it works in the most current browser versions.
Search Engine Optimization?
I don’t know. They aren’t into sharing much about their tool until you create an account.
Blog Features?
Can’t tell. There’s no features page and their example sites are loading in record slow time, so I lost my patience.
Ease of Use
Who knows. There’s only a promise of ease of use. There’s no demo. Shocked?
Use Your Own URL?
Yes.
My Initial Impression
Do you have to ask?
Right, so since you asked, SnackWebsites looks shiny and awesome. However, they have the weirdest pricing system I have heard of and they don’t have the features of their tool laid out nice and neat, like almost EVERYONE ELSE. If you decide to go with them knowing what I know about them (which is almost nothing after spending 40 minutes trying to find out the details), you are sillier than they are.

Hi there.
I have been using snacktools VIP membership for a few years now. I was lucky and managed to get in at the right time when it only cost me $99.00 for an annual membership. This cost is now $288.
A VIP membership gives you access to all the snacktools apps (snacksites / Bannersnack / Podsnack / Flipsnack) and so on. It also includes unlimited websites in the snacksites maker with the ability to use your own custom URL’s.
It is difficult to find their pricing plans without searching around but I have managed to find some information for you.
Check out their pricing here … http://www.photosnack.com/photo-slideshow-maker/go-premium/
Scroll down the page just a little and you will see their table pricing plan. The first two subscriptions on the left side are only for the photosnack app, but the other 2 include all the snacktools apps as I mentioned above.
These links may help too…
Please see this screenshot here…….. http://screencast.com/t/s5zWesQof
But I think this link might also work even if you don’t have an account… http://www.snacktools.com/en/vip-membership.html
In case the links don’t work, here is an outline of their plans;
POINTS:
10 points = $19 (one time payment)
25 points = $39 (one time payment)
50 points = $59 (one time payment)
75 points = $89 (one time payment)
100 points = $99 (one time payment)
150 points = $129 (one time payment)
SNACK VIP MEMBERSHIP:
$48 per month (all snack tools apps with 25,000 embed views per day limit).
$24 per month (if you pay annually = $288 billed yearly, same conditions as above).
SNACK BUSINESS MEMBERSHIP:
$69 per month (all snack tools apps with 100,000 embed views per day limit).
$48 per month (if you pay annually = $576 billed yearly, same conditions as above).

One thing I really like about snacktools is they have 24/7 live chat support (but as I am typing this it seems no one is working in the support department today or their live chat system is down), but to be fair this has only happened a few times in the 3+ years I have had my VIP membership.
As far as their apps are concerned, their main focus by far is on the bannersnack app, followed closely by their flipsnack app, both of which really are fantastic apps (if you have a VIP membership). I really wouldn’t bother going anywhere near the points system, huge waste of money and really just a pain in the rear end!
The snackwebsites app is really good, but also really limited in certain ways, will take too much time to explain here, but overall it is good and you can easily create a website once you know how the app works. There is a bit of a learning curve to get used to how the app works and what all the options and settings allow you to do, but again the live chat support is great for helping you get through this process. But you definitely should allow yourself at least one to two full days of playing around with it to really make a website efficiently! Another great thing about it, UNLIMITED websites included in the VIP account with custom domain names!
Downsides to snackwebsites….? The main ones would be lack of flexibility within the site builder app itself, but you can find work arounds a lot of the time if you play around long enough. Also they do not host material in the site builder, you have to embed the code from a 3rd party app for example.
Overall, if you don’t mind paying $288 per year for the VIP subscription (this really is only valid if you have lots of stuff you can create like banner sliders, flipbooks, websites, polls and so on), then it is a good solid system on which you can do a lot.
Hope this helps all!
