Today’s website review is of Doodlekit. This appears to be a service that only offers one product; in the reviews I have done so far, this generally means a higher-quality website builder than companies that offer many online products. Let’s see.
Industry Specific?
They do the same thing that most website builders do by offering many templates that will work in many scenarios. They don’t seem to have any industry-specific tools.
Pricing
There are four pricing tiers. They have a free tier, Simple, Business, and Advanced. The plans can be compared at their Plans and Pricing page. Their plans can cost as little as $14 a month and as much as $49 a month.

Mobile?
Yes. Their websites are responsive.
In What Browser Does the Website Builder Work?
It doesn’t say, so I’ll go with the assumption that it works in the most modern browsers, like Chrome, Firefox, and IE 10.
Search Engine Optimization?
They don’t spell out what type of optimization options you have, but you definitely have some form of search engine optimization abilities once you upgrade to a paid plan. They also have website traffic statistics. They don’t mention that third-party tracking code can be used.
Blog Features?
Yes. All levels have a blogging feature.
Ease of Use
There are some screenshots in the header of Doodlekit’s website giving you a slight idea of what it is like inside their tool; from what I can see it looks straight forward. If you like the drag and drop concept, there is no mention of drag and drop functionality, and sadly there is no video showing the tool in action.
Use Your Own URL?
Yes! You have to have a paid account for your own URL. Fair enough.
My Initial Impression
I like the “we eat our own dog food” statement. They are proud to tell the world that they run their website off of their website building tool. They claim that this makes it so they are aware of what is and what isn’t working for their customers, which makes a ton of sense to me. No one else has made this claim. I wish they had a demonstration of the tool in action, but otherwise this looks like a very promising website builder tool.
